AIR JORDAN RETRO 4 | WOMENS
The Jordan Brand was first introduced during Michael Jordan’s rookie year with the Chicago Bulls. When designers Peter Moore and Tinker Hatfield created the first set of Air Jordans in the mid to late 1980s, the brand was initially labeled as Nike products. It wasn't until 1997 that Nike decided to expand into clothing gear, other footwear and accessories. Jordan’s dynamic moves on the court sparked Nike’s interest to put forth the basketball star’s own brand, including giving him his own Jumpman logo. The Jordan brand was inspired by the legendary player and has been the go-to brand for performance the past 30 years. While representing a signature part of Nike’s Basketball strategy, the brand also leads in categories from lifestyle to training.
MJ has been retired since 2003, but remains an integral figure in the design and production process of the Jordan line. There are now 31 signature Jordan silhouettes and the Jordan brand continues to be rooted in culture across all major sports and entertainment.
